Emotional support and non-medical advice are available to you at any point after booking, and additional postpartum services can be added to your care plan. Founder of Cypress Roots, Doula and Breastfeeding Specialist
Caryl’s journey into the world of pregnancy and birth began during her own transformative experience. While preparing for an unmedicated birth at a birth center, a pre-eclampsia diagnosis at 36 weeks necessitated a transfer to a hospital. It was here that Caryl decided to enlist the support of a doula, who profoundly impacted her birth experience. Inspired by the invaluable guidance and support she received, Caryl embarked on her path to becoming a doula herself. She recognized the significant impact that compassionate, informed support can have on birthing experiences and beyond. Her mission is to empower her clients, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves during pregnancy, childbirth and during postpartum. Caryl is dedicated to restoring voices and agency to those she serves, facilitating positive, fulfilling and empowering birth journeys.
Caryl works part-time with a Louisiana nonprofit that supports NICU families as the Outreach Coordinator. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), and is a Safe Sleep Ambassador through Cribs for Kids as of January 2026.
